Business Process Management (BPM) is a set of activities undertaken by organizations to improve or streamline their business processes. In view of the fact that software tools are generally used to support these activities, these software tools known as Business Process Management Systems.

Business Process Management has been in place for some time. Due to the introduction of software tools, but, has renewed interest in the body of BPM-related knowledge. These software tools make design and implementation of Business Process Management simpler, cheaper and more well-organized. 1. Design

The design of BPM involves capturing unfilled processes in a business environment. These processes must be modeled so that they can be simulated and experienced person. Modeling these processes usually involves methods represented graphically documenting processes and stores this information in repositories.

2. Implementation

Traditionally, to implement automation in a business establishment, developers would have to be hired to develop applications that automate certain processes. Sorry to say, the scope of these projects was often too narrow. The result of which is that automation is not well integrated in the business environment as automation only concerned with a particular department or function. In 1920, Frederick Taylor described three waves of the ideal business process management. These waves represent ways of thinking about business process engineers had.

Wave 1. Processes set in stone

They are guaranteed in the policy manuals business. The manual is the footing of the process and the establishment must comply with them.

Wave 2. Change Processes Once In A While

Using activity time, changes can be made. This means that business processes would have to build around a fixed and that change can come only occasionally, and at fantastic cost.

Wave 3. Process On-The-Glide

The primary consideration in these systems is the flexibility to change. Companies that adhere to this objective to start business environments that can adapt to their changing needs. This configuration also allows the business to adjust their operations constantly excellent. This wave is not business process reengineering. It is maintaining an environment that is constantly on their toes, ready to adapt to circumstances, and to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

Change is the only constant, they say. In this modern day and age, this could not be more right. Survival a business could well depend on its ability to constantly adjust their processes according to the whims of change.
