Stocks advance after upbeat data

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stocks advanced on Friday, sending major indexes up more than 1 percent, as reassuring intelligence on the fourth-quarter 2009 combined domestic product and January consumer sentiment rekindled the appetite for riskier assets.
